UCLA football defensemen Carson Schwesinger (LB) and Oluwafemi Oladejo (EDGE) were selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft at Lambeau Field on Friday evening.

Schwesinger was the first player off the board on day two, selected with the No. 33 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns. Oladejo was selected No. 52 overall by the Tennessee Titans.

Schwesinger's football journey has been storybook. The Oaks Christian School product arrived at UCLA as a zero-star walk-on in 2021, and after two seasons as a reserve, developed into a First Team All-American and one of the top linebackers in the nation.

Schwesinger broke out in the 2024 season, piling up 136 total tackles, 4.0 sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss, one fumble forced and two interceptions en route to first-team All-America recognition by the Associated Press. He also earned second-team honors from the American Football Coaches Association and the Walter Camp Football Foundation. Schwesinger was a finalist for the Butkus Award, which honors the nation's top linebacker, and a semifinalist for the Burlsworth Trophy, presented annually to the best player who began his career as a walk-on. Academically, he was named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Second Team Academic All-American with a 3.72 cumulative GPA as a bioengineering major.

Schwesinger, an All-Big Ten First Team selection, led the conference during the regular season in total tackles (136), total tackles per game (11.3), solo tackles (90), solo tackles per game (7.5) and double-digit-tackle performances (nine). Schwesinger's 90 solo tackles led the FBS and were the most by a Big Ten defenseman during the regular season in at least the last 22 years.

With Oladejo's selection, the Bruins have now had a defensive lineman drafted in four of the last five years (Osa Odighizuwa, 2021; Otito Ogbonnia, 2022; Laiatu Latu, 2024).

Oladejo started all 12 games his senior year in 2024 with the majority of those starts (10) coming at a new position at defensive end. Oladejo led the Bruins' defensive line with 57 total tackles (30-27-57), 13.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and six quarterback hurries. Including his two seasons at California (2021-22), Oladejo finished his collegiate career with 238 total tackles (120-118-238), 20.5 TFLs and six sacks.

Oladejo soared up draft boards with his performance at the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl in January and February. In addition to his strong performance in weekly drills, Oladejo notched a pair of sacks in the Senior Bowl Game on Feb. 1.

Oladejo graduated from UCLA with an undergraduate degree in African American studies.

The 2025 NFL Draft continues on Sunday (rounds 4-7). The draft will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN, and the NFL Network.
