(BCSNN) — Former Stanford quarterback Bear Bachmeier and wide receiver Tiger Bachmeier have committed to BYU, the brothers announced. The highly touted duo entered the transfer portal earlier this spring and will reunite in Provo, fulfilling their goal of playing together at the collegiate level.
Bear Bachmeier, a four-star recruit in the 2025 class, enrolled early at Stanford and participated in spring practices before deciding to transfer. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound dual-threat quarterback is known for his strong arm, quick release, and ability to extend plays. He will compete for playing time behind incumbent starter Jake Retzlaff, with an eye on securing the starting role in 2026.
Tiger Bachmeier, a former four-star prospect, played two seasons at Stanford, recording 46 receptions for 476 yards and two touchdowns. The 6-foot, 190-pound wideout led all Pac-12 freshmen in receiving yards in 2023 and is expected to be an immediate contributor for BYU. His route-running ability and versatility make him a valuable addition to the Cougars' receiving corps, which lost Keelan Marion to Miami in the transfer portal.
The Bachmeier brothers bring experience and talent to a BYU program looking to build on its 11-2 season in 2024. Their arrival strengthens the Cougars' offensive depth as they prepare for their third season in the Big 12.
