The List Of Preseason Honors And Watchlists Keeps Growing For Ohio State Buckeyes Players

Preseason honors continue to arrive for the Ohio State Buckeyes four more players being named today to preseason watch lists: junior SAF Caleb Downs and senior CB Davison Igbinosun were named to the Thorpe Award watch list; and senior LB Sonny Styles and junior LB Arvell Reese were each named to the Butkus Award watch list. 

Downs' preseason now includes his being named to the first team of every preseason All-America team in addition to three watch lists.

Igbinosun, who has started all 29 games he has played in at Ohio State, had 45 tackles in 2024 and led the team with 11 passes defensed (nine pass break-ups and two interceptions).

 Styles has garnered second-team preseason All-America honors from three of the four organizations that have announced a team.

Reese is poised for a breakout campaign in 2025. The true junior has played in 24 games to date, including 16 games for the 2024 CFP national champion Buckeyes when he recorded 43 total tackles including 3.5 tackles-for-loss plus had two quarterback hurries.
