(BCSNN) — Minnesota turned a short week into a statement Friday night, sacking Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola nine times and riding a resurgent ground game to a 24–6 win over the No. 25 Cornhuskers at Huntington Bank Stadium.
Darius Taylor returned from injury with 148 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Drake Lindsey completed 16-of-20 passes and added two scores—one through the air and one on the ground.
The Gophers (5–2, 3–1 Big Ten) never trailed, and their defense set the tone early and often. Anthony Smith and Karter Menz each recorded 2.5 sacks, part of Minnesota’s highest single-game total since P.J. Fleck took over in 2017.
Nebraska (5–2, 2–2) managed just 36 rushing yards and saw a potential interception wiped out by a pass interference penalty, which Minnesota turned into a touchdown run by Taylor.
Minnesota has now won six straight in the series and improved to 7–1 under Fleck against the Huskers, who haven’t won in Minneapolis since 2015. The Gophers head to Iowa next Saturday, while Nebraska returns home to host Northwestern.
