(BCSNN) — Senior quarterback Blake Horvath rushed for 174 yards and tied a career high with four touchdowns, while senior snipe Brandon Chatman added a career-best 141 rushing yards to lead Navy to a 42–32 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The victory marked Navy’s 10th consecutive win dating back to last season, tying the program record for longest win streak. The Mids (7–0, 5–0 American) also matched the second-best start in school history, last achieved in 1978.

Junior linebacker Coleman Cauley starred in his first career start, recording nine tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and an interception. Navy’s defense forced three turnovers that led to 21 points, including a strip-sack by Adam Klenk that set up a touchdown run by Braxton Woodson.

Horvath scored twice in the first half and added two more in the second, including a 31-yard burst to make it 42–19 with 5:36 remaining. FAU (3–5, 2–3) scored twice in the final two minutes to narrow the margin.

Navy piled up 503 yards of total offense, including 397 on the ground. The Mids held FAU to field goals on three red zone trips and forced a missed kick in the third quarter to preserve their lead.

Next up: Navy travels to Denton to face North Texas (7–1, 3–1) on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 12 p.m. ET. The game will air on ESPN2 or ESPNU and stream on the Navy Radio Network.
