(BCSNN) — Texas A&M didn’t just win. The Aggies walked into Faurot Field, punched No. 22 Missouri in the mouth, and strutted out with a 38–17 victory that screamed: “We run the SEC now.”
Marcel Reed was sharp and fearless, throwing for 221 yards and two touchdowns on 20-of-29 passing. Rueben Owens II was electric, rushing for 102 yards and two scores, including a 57-yard sprint that left Missouri defenders grasping at air. KC Concepcion added flash with a 48-yard touchdown grab, and the Aggie defense made sure Missouri never got comfortable.
Texas A&M (9–0, 6–0 SEC) is unbeaten in conference play for the first time since joining the SEC in 2012. Mike Elko’s squad now owns three road wins over AP Top 25 teams — more than any other FBS program this season.
The defense was nasty. Missouri managed just 77 passing yards. Daymion Sanford forced a fumble, Cashius Howell added a strip sack to reach double-digit sacks on the season, and Dalton Brooks turned heads with a 48-yard fake punt run and a fumble recovery.
The Aggies led 14–0 at halftime and never looked back. Concepcion’s deep strike opened the second half, and Owens II iced it with a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns.
Texas A&M dominated time of possession (35:46), outgained Missouri 402–284, and looked every bit like a team ready to crash the College Football Playoff party.
Up next: The Aggies return to Kyle Field for their final SEC home game against South Carolina on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. CT.
