(BCSNN) — Tight end Preston Howard has rejoined the Maryland football program for his senior season, the school announced. Howard returns to the Terrapins after spending the 2025 campaign at Auburn, where he appeared in all 12 games and made seven starts.
Howard, a 6‑foot‑5, 236‑pound native of Arbutus, Md., caught 10 passes for 84 yards with the Tigers, including a season‑high four receptions for 33 yards against Georgia. Before transferring to Auburn, he spent three seasons at Maryland, totaling 37 receptions for 349 yards and one touchdown across the 2023 and 2024 seasons after redshirting in 2022.
A former standout at McDonogh School, Howard posted a 21–4 record as a starting quarterback and earned all‑state honors before transitioning to tight end at the collegiate level. He also lettered in basketball.
Howard has one year of eligibility remaining.
