Wolfpack "Super Senior" defensive end Daniel Joseph was a first round draft pick on Tuesday evening, but he still plans to suit up for the Wolfpack this fall.

The Toronto, Ontario native, who led NC State in sacks last season, was the fourth overall selection in the 2021 Canadian Football League draft. He was drafted by the BC Lions. Joseph's brother, Faith Ekakite, was the No. 1 pick in the 2017 CFL draft, while his cousin Ese Mrabure-Ajufo was the No. 1 pick (also by the Lions) in 2015.

A graduate transfer prior to the 2020 season, Joseph was a starter in eight off his 11 games played in 2020. His 6.5 sacks led the team and tied for eighth in the ACC and he ranked second among Pack defenders with 10 tackles for loss.

Joseph was named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week following the win over No. 21 Liberty when he tallied 1.5 sacks for 10 yards.

BC will retain Joseph's rights if he decides to play in the CFL at a later date.
