(BCSNN) -- Sure, the WCWS is underway and the CWS is about to begin, but many college football fans are already thinking about next bowl season. The 2026–27 schedule for what we've come to call, "Bowl Season." was released Wednesday, featuring 35 bowl games in addition to 11 College Football Playoff matchups, with everything kicking off on Dec. 12 and concluding with the College Football Playoff National Championship on Jan. 20 in Las Vegas.

One game — the Trust and Will Holiday Bowl in San Diego — has yet to be assigned a date, though officials confirmed it will be played.

The slate includes one new addition, the Puerto Rico Bowl, which will make its debut on Dec. 22 at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium in Bayamón, just southwest of San Juan. The game marks a rare bowl played outside the mainland United States. Trying to remember what our President recently said about Puerto Rico. Something about a hole. You think he'll be going?

Anyway, the schedule also features several high‑volume days. Dec. 26 will host five bowl games, while Dec. 22 and 23 will each include tripleheaders, creating one of the busiest opening weekends of bowl season in recent years.

The full postseason lineup sets the stage for a month‑long stretch of matchups across the country — and now, the Caribbean — as college football prepares for another expanded playoff run and a crowded December calendar.
