HOUSTON – Four Houston Football offensive players were named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List, the award given to the top offensive player that graduated from a Texas High School or attends a Texas college.

Houston quarterback Conner Weigman landed on the list for the third time in his career and second consecutive season. He was joined by wide receiver Amare Thomas, tight end Patrick Overmyer and Preseason AP All-American guard Shadre Hurst.

Weigman accounted for 36 total touchdowns – 25 passing and 11 rushing – which led the Big 12 and was seventh-most in the nation. Weigman's 3,405 yards of offense were the 12th most by a Cougar QB since 1996 and the most since 2021 – his 700 rushing yards were the second most by a Houston QB since 1996 and his 36 total touchdowns were the seventh-most since 1996.

Among returning Big 12 quarterbacks, Weigman's 25 passing touchdowns is second in the league, his 11 rushing touchdowns are tied for the most in the conference, his 2,705 passing yards are third in the Big 12 and his 700 rushing yards leads the league, his 65.2 completion percentage leads returning Big 12 QBs and his 147.1 QB rating ranks second.

In 2025, Hurst was the top graded offensive lineman in the American Athletic Conference and the sixth highest graded guard in the country by PFF. At Tulane, Hurst helped Tulane to three conference titles (2022-23, 2025) and has allowed just one sack in four seasons.

Hurst was also named to Bruce Feldman's 2026 Freaks List who has improved his bench press from 450 pounds to 475 and his squat from 600 to 655 while at Houston.

Thomas hauled in 966 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns, the most by a Cougar since Tank Dell in 2022 on his way to All-America honors.

The Birmingham, Ala., native recorded six 20-yard touchdown receptions and three touchdowns of 50+ yards. Thomas' 2,073 receiving yards since 2023 ranks fourth among active FBS wide receivers and his 23 receiving touchdowns since 2023 ranks second among active FBS wide receivers.

Overmyer, a 2024 Freshman All-American, and over two years hauled in 627 receiving yards on 58 catches for eight touchdowns at UTSA. As a sophomore in 2025, he recorded 344 receiving yards, which ranked fifth on team and seventh by a tight end in The American.

The Kingwood, Texas native caught fire late in the 2025 season for the Roadrunners, catching three touchdown passes in the final two games of the year. His five touchdowns in 2025 ranked third-most by a Group of 6 tight end while his 63.5 PFF receiving grade ranked seventh among tight ends with 5+ touchdowns in the Group of 6 leagues.
