BCSNN — Arizona State hits the road for the first time in 2026, traveling to College Station for a marquee non-conference matchup against No. 10 Texas A&M on Saturday at Kyle Field. Kickoff is set for 9 a.m. MST on ABC, marking one of the most high‑profile road games in recent Sun Devil history - and potentially the largest crowd the program has ever played in front of.

The meeting is just the second between the programs. Texas A&M won the 2015 contest 38-17 in Houston, though the game remained within one score until the final minutes. That Aggies roster featured more than 25 future NFL players, including eventual No. 1 picks Myles Garrett and Kyler Murray, as well as future NFL starters Christian Kirk, Josh Reynolds, and Josh Allen.

This year’s Aggies arrive with similar firepower. Coming off an 11‑win season and their first College Football Playoff appearance, Texas A&M opened 2026 with a 50-0 win over Missouri State, improving to 20-7 in season openers since 2000. Senior quarterback Marcel Reed leads an experienced offense after producing roughly 3,500 yards and 31 touchdowns last season. Reed completed 21 of 30 passes for 233 yards and two scores in Week 1 as A&M rolled up 505 total yards and spread the ball among 10 receivers.

The Aggie defense was equally dominant, posting its second shutout under head coach Mike Elko and allowing just 67 total yards, the fewest by an A&M opponent since 1978. The unit forced seven consecutive scoreless possessions after the first quarter.

Saturday’s game is expected to draw a massive crowd. Texas A&M set a program record with 107,782 fans in its opener, and ASU may play in front of the largest audience in program history. The current record for a true road game is Georgia’s 92,746 in 2009, while ASU’s only six‑digit crowds came in its two Rose Bowl appearances.

The Sun Devils are no strangers to SEC opponents. Saturday marks their third straight season facing an SEC team in nonconference play after a home‑and‑home with Mississippi State.
