The Wake Forest football program announced that it has added a home-and-home series against Sun Belt foe Georgia State for the 2029 and 2030 football seasons.

The Demon Deacons will face the Panthers in Winston-Salem on Sept. 15, 2029, and the Deacs will travel to Atlanta for a contest on Sept. 14, 2030.

"This is a great opportunity for Wake Forest to host a fun matchup at Truist Field and for our future Demon Deacons to travel to Atlanta and play in Georgia State's newly renovated Central Parc Credit Union Stadium," said Deacon athletics director John Currie. "Georgia State AD Charlie Cobb has done an incredible job of building a strong football and athletics program in DEACTOWN Atlanta and I am excited for our many area Demon Deacon football alums and fans to celebrate DEACTOWN there in 2030."

"Wake Forest has a great tradition of players from the state of Georgia and we look forward to playing in an area where we recruit so we can further showcase the Demon Deacon brand," head coach Dave Clawson said.

The matchup in 2029 will mark the first time in program history that Wake Forest will face off against Georgia State. The Demon Deacons last played a Sun Belt opponent in 2017 when the Deacs defeated Appalachian State, 20-19, in Boone, N.C.
