The No. 20 Texas Football team won the Valero Alamo Bowl for the second-straight year, and recorded its fourth-straight bowl win under Tom Herman, with a 55-23 win over Colorado (4-2; 3-1 Pac-12) on Tuesday at the Alamodome.

KEY MOMENTS & NOTES
• Seven of Texas' 22 starters versus Colorado were freshman, including six true freshmen. Four of those seven were making their first collegiate starts. In addition, senior WR Brenden Schooler and sophomore LB Jett Bush each made their first starts at Texas on Tuesday night.
• The Longhorns needed just four plays and 50 seconds of game time to tally the first points of the Alamo Bowl, as true freshman RB Bijan Robinson rushed into the endzone from eight yards out. He also logged a 27-yard carry on UT's first play from scrimmage, followed by a 39-yard reception from WR Joshua Moore.
• Texas' defense forced Colorado to go three-and-out on its first two possessions of the game. On the third possession, the Buffaloes moved the chains for the first time and then immediately had a pass intercepted by LB DeMarvion Overshown at the UT 11-yard line. Overshown has recorded a pass breakup or interception in eight of 10 games this season.
• With Texas in possession, Robinson broke a 50-yard run and later added a second touchdown on a 14-yard pass from QB Sam Ehlinger to help give the Longhorns a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.
• Freshman DL Alfred Collins, one of the seven freshman starting on Tuesday, made an acrobratic play to log his first career interception and hold the Buffaloes scoreless in the first quarter.
• Junior K Cameron Dicker booted a season-long 53-yard field goal late in the second quarter to give Texas a 17-7 advantage. It was his third career field goal in excess of 50 yards, tied for the seventh-most in school history. Dicker's kick was also the second-longest made field goal by a Longhorn in a bowl game and the longest made kick on Alamo Bowl record.
• True freshman DL Vernon Broughton, making his second appearance of the season, logged his first career sack to force Colorado to kick a 40-yard field goal while driving in Texas territory late in the first half. The kick went through the uprights and made it a 17-10 Longhorn advantage at halftime.
• In the third quarter, sophomore QB Casey Thompson took over for Ehlinger, who left the game at halftime due to injury. On Thompson's first drive behind center, Robinson broke a 66-yard run – the second-longest run by a Longhorn in a bowl game – and then Thompson found WR Joshua Moore on a 13-yard touchdown pass to give Texas a 24-10 advantage.
• Thompson found Moore again on the Longhorns' ensuing possession, this time a 25-yard strike, to give Texas a 31-10 lead. Moore's two touchdowns tied the school record for receiving touchdowns in a bowl game, and he was the first to hit that mark since Jordan Shipley in the 2010 BCS Championship Game vs. Alabama.
• Thompson threw his third touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter, connecting with Robinson on a 23-yard score. It was Robinson's second receiving touchdown of the game (third total), matching him with Moore and seven others for the school's receiving touchdown record in a bowl game. He is the first Texas running back to catch multiple touchdowns in a bowl game.
• Thompson threw a 73-yard touchdown, his fourth of the game, to freshman WR Kelvontay Dixon, his first career touchdown, in the fourth quarter to give Texas a 48-23 lead. Thompson's four passing touchdowns ties Major Applewhite (2001 Holiday) for the most by a Longhorn in a bowl game, while Dixon's 73-yard catch was the fifth-longest on UT record in a bowl game.
• After his fourth touchdown, Thompson was replaced by true freshman Hudson Card at quarterback. Thompson finished 8-of-10 for 170 yards and four touchdowns, and left Texas with a 48-23 lead.
• Midway through the fourth quarter, sophomore RB Roschon Johnson broke a 21-yard touchdown run to push Texas' lead to 55-23. His run helped break Texas' bowl-game records for most points scored and most yards of total offense. The Longhorns finished Tuesday's Alamo Bowl with 55 points and 638 yards of offense (335 pass/303 rush). Texas is the first FBS program to rush and pass for at least 300 yards in a bowl game since Oregon in the 2015 Rose Bowl vs. Florida State.

The Valero Alamo Bowl concludes the 2020 season for the Longhorns, who finish with a 7-3 record (5-3 Big 12). Texas is currently slated to open its 2021 season against Louisiana on Saturday, Sept. 4, at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
