Midwestern salads and "salads" was created by queenszep
Came across a pretty interesting/funny article highlight Midwestern salads and "salads". Some looked pretty good and normal (for example, broccoli salad, Waldorf salad, three bean salad, and macaroni salad), and then some did not (cookie salad, Snickers salad, creamy cucumber salad, popcorn salad, frog eye salad, and "pink stuff")

Cookie salad:
- 2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 12 ounces frozen whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), thawed
- 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
- 2 (11 ounce) cans mandarin oranges, drained
- ½ (11.5 ounce) package fudge stripe cookies
- 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant butterscotch pudding mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1 (6 ounce) package whipped cream topping (such as Cool Whip®)
- 6 chocolate-coated caramel-peanut nougat candy bars (such as Snickers®), cut into bite-size pieces
- 3 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored, and cut into bite-size pieces
- 10 slices bacon
- 1 ¼ cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
- 1 cup diced celery
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup shredded carrots
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh chives
- 6 cups popped popcorn
- 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 ¾ cups unsweetened pineapple juice
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ teaspoons salt, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 (16 ounce) package acini di pepe pasta
- 3 (11 ounce) cans mandarin oranges, drained
- 2 (20 ounce) cans pineapple tidbits, drained
- 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 cup miniature marshmallows
- 1 cup shredded coconut

- 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained with juice reserved
- 4 large carrots, shredded
- 1 (3 ounce) package lemon flavored Jell-O® mix
- 1 (3 ounce) package lime flavored Jell-O® mix
- 4 cups boiling water
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
- ½ cup chopped pimento-stuffed green olives
- 2 carrots, peeled and grated
