Head Memphis men's soccer coach Richard Mulrooney has added Manu Monserrat for the upcoming 2023 season.

"Manu is a local player we have known for quite some time and with him coming home for his senior season, we have been able to watch him compete with his local club and high school so that was very helpful from a recruiting standpoint," said Mulrooney. "He is a player who fills a role for us in the middle of the field with the way he possesses the ball along with the soccer IQ he brings. He will be joining a very experienced midfield and I expect him to challenge others around him on the field and be a healthy addition to our locker room culture as well."

The midfielder comes to Memphis after spending three seasons within MLS Columbus Crew's Academy program. Monserrat returned to Houston High School for his senior season where he was named a captain of the team helped lead the Mustangs to a 10-2-3 overall record this year.

"I am incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to play in a high level program, and excited to play my college soccer career in front of my family and friends in my hometown," said Monserrat.
