BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana men's soccer (1-0-0, 0-0-0 B1G) made a mighty first impression on a crowd of 7,078 fans as well as the college soccer world Thursday night (Aug. 20), handling Notre Dame (0-1-0, 0-0-0 ACC) by a 3-1 score.

Third-year transfer Oliver Moller-Jensen debuted with two goals and one assist to lead IU in the opening night victory. Moller-Jensen bookended fellow third-year Easton Bogard's contribution to the scoresheet.

Thursday night's attendance marked the third-largest soccer crowd in Bill Armstrong Stadium history as well as its No. 1 opening day crowd, besting the 2025 season opener versus Clemson (6,395).

KEY MOMENTS
• 14' – GOAL! As Notre Dame played a ball from outside and across the top of the box, Moller-Jensen pounced and stole the ball from a long touch-and-turn. Moller-Jensen quickly found his target and fired a low laser into the far side netting. Indiana 1, Notre Dame 0
• 37' – GOAL! Nolan Kinsella side-stepped a defender on the right wing, passed to Moller-Jensen in space, and Moller-Jensen found Bogard centered just inside the box. Bogard took a touch to his right and fired into the top corner to double Indiana's lead. Indiana 2, Notre Dame 0
• 57' – GOAL! An Alex Barger shot banged off the right post and straight into the right boot of Moller-Jensen, who one-touched finished into the roof of goal. Indiana 3, Notre Dame 0
• 83' – GOAL! The Fighting Irish spoiled the shutout, converting from the spot. IU goalkeeper Michal Mroz was charged for a challenge on Notre Dame's Vlad Walent just inside the box as he attempted to clear. Walent stepped to the spot and scored the lone goal. Indiana 3, Notre Dame 1

• Nine Hoosiers debuted in the season opener: starters Wes Carnevale, Alex Matthews, Nick McHenry, Oliver Moller-Jensen, Michal Mroz, Bennett Painter and substitutes Michael Adu-Gyamfi, Dempsey Resich and Owen Sloan.
• In what's been a tight series in recent years, Thursday's result marked the first multi-goal margin between Indiana and Notre Dame in 11 meetings going back to 2016. IU has not suffered a 90-minute defeat in those 10 years (7-0-4; lost penalty shoutout in 2023 NCAA Tournament).
• Indiana improved to 35-10-6 in the all-time series with the Fighting Irish.
