Despite a hard-fought second half, the Wisconsin men's basketball team suffered a heart-breaking, 63-61 loss to No. 5 Purdue on Thursday night at the Kohl Center.

Max Klesmit scored team-high 19 points (6-of-11 FG), 17 of those coming in the second half alone, including some big baskets down the stretch.

Chucky Hepburn was the only other Badger to score in double figures finishing with 13 points. Connor Essegian and Isaac Lindsey each added eight points for UW.

The Badgers (16-13, 8-11 Big Ten) finished the game shooting 39.7 percent (23-58) from the floor, including 10-for-24 from 3-point range. 

Purdue (16-13, 8-11 B1G) was led by Zach Edey's 17 points and 19 rebounds. Fletcher Loyer added 13 points.
