Syracuse And Northeastern Scheduled To Clash In December For The Programs' 10th Meeting

Syracuse and Northeastern will square off for the 10th time in program history when the squads meet on Saturday, December 20, at the JMA Wireless Dome.

The Syracuse-Northeastern Series:

  • Syracuse has a 9-0 advantage in the series with Northeastern.
  • The previous nine meetings have been contested in Syracuse.
  • The two teams first played in the 1974-75 campaign.
  • The most recent encounter, on Nov. 19, 2022, resulted in a 76-48 Syracuse victory.

Syracuse
The Orange return their top two scorers, senior guard J.J. Starling (17.8 ppg.) and sophomore forward Donnie Freeman (13.4 ppg., 7.9 rpg.), from the 2024-25 squad that was 14-19. Third-year coach Adrian Autry has added six transfers and five freshmen to the Syracuse roster.    

Northeastern
Northeastern was 17-15 overall and 9-9 in the Coastal Athletic Association a season ago. Bill Coen, the winningest coach in Northeastern history, enters his 20th year as head coach at Northeastern. Guard LA Pratt (11.2 ppg., 3.6 rpg.) is the top returning performer for the Huskies.
