(BCSNN) — The storied Bedlam basketball rivalry between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State will take center stage in downtown Oklahoma City this December, as both schools announced a men’s and women’s doubleheader at Paycom Center, home of the reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
Scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13, the event marks the first time both the men’s and women’s programs from OU and OSU will share the stage in a single-day showcase at the 18,203-seat arena. The announcement follows last year’s successful neutral-site men’s game, which drew a capacity crowd and marked the first Bedlam matchup since Oklahoma’s move to the Southeastern Conference.
The men’s game will be the 251st meeting between the Sooners and Cowboys, continuing a rivalry that dates back to the 1927–28 season. Oklahoma State, under second-year head coach Steve Lutz, is coming off a 17–18 campaign that included a run to the quarterfinals of the NIT. Oklahoma, led by Porter Moser, finished 20–14 and earned its first NCAA Tournament berth of his tenure.
On the women’s side, the Cowgirls and Sooners will renew their rivalry after a one-year hiatus. Both teams were nationally ranked and reached the NCAA Tournament in 2025, adding further intrigue to the matchup. Game times and television details will be announced at a later date, pending broadcast assignments.
With the Thunder fresh off their first NBA title and basketball fervor at an all-time high in Oklahoma City, the Bedlam doubleheader promises to be one of the marquee events of the state’s sports calendar.
