(BCSNN) — Wisconsin rode a blistering perimeter performance and 48 combined points from Nick Boyd and John Blackwell to upset No. 15 Purdue 97–93 on Saturday inside a raucous Mackey Arena.

Blackwell scored a game‑high 25 points, hitting five three‑pointers, while Boyd added 23 points — including 10 of the Badgers’ final 12 — along with five assists and three rebounds. Wisconsin knocked down a season‑high 18 threes, with stretch bigs Aleksas Bieliauskas and Austin Rapp combining for eight of them. Rapp finished with 17 points and Bieliauskas added 16.

Wisconsin opened strong behind early threes from Bieliauskas and an and‑one from Blackwell, but Purdue answered with a 13–0 run. A Rapp three steadied the Badgers, who later surged with an 8–2 run powered by Kamari Carrington and AJ Rohde to take a 52–47 halftime lead after hitting 12 first‑half threes.

The second half featured more swings. Wisconsin opened with a 7–2 run, Purdue countered with an 8–0 burst, and the Badgers responded with an 8–0 stretch of their own behind threes from Rapp and Bieliauskas. The teams traded baskets until the final 90 seconds, when Boyd’s jumper pushed the lead to three. After Purdue cut it to two, Carrington hit two free throws with 20 seconds left to secure the win.

With the victory, Wisconsin overtook Purdue for the No. 5 seed in the 2026 Big Ten Tournament. The Badgers will open postseason play Thursday in Chicago around 2 p.m. CT against the winner of the No. 12 vs. No. 13 matchup. A move to the No. 4 seed — and a triple‑bye — remains possible.
