Baylor’s Tounde Yessoufou (co-player and co-newcomer) and Colorado’s Isaiah Johnson (co-player and co-newcomer) shared Big 12 weekly awards for the final week of the 2025-26 regular season.

Yessoufou averaged 23.0 points and 8.5 rebounds while adding a Conference-leading 4.0 steals over the week. At then-No. 7 Houston, the freshman from Benin had his first career double-double with 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. In the 101-75 win over Utah, the guard had 26 points and six steals as head coach Scott Drew picked up his 500th career win. It is Yessoufou’s second Newcomer of the Week honor and his first Player of the Week honor of the season.

Johnson passed Alec Burks for CU’s freshman season scoring record, averaging 25.0 points and 4.5 assists in two games. In the 92-78 win at Utah, the guard from Los Angeles had 22 points, four assists and three steals. The freshman followed that performance with a career-high 28 points against No. 2 Arizona, adding five assists. Johnson is the first CU player to win Big 12 Player of the Week honors since the Buffaloes rejoined the league in 2024-25, and the first to secure the honor since Burks in 2011.

Joining Yessoufou and Johnson on the Big 12 Starting Five, which honors strong performances across the league are BYU’s AJ Dybantsa and Rob Wright and KU’ Tre White. Dybantsa notched his ninth and 10th consecutive 20+ point scoring games, including a 21-point, six-rebound performance to close out the Cougars’ home season with a 82-76 win over then-No. 10 Texas Tech. Wright scored 23 second-half points in the win over the Red Raiders, finishing with 27 and six rebounds, giving him two 20-point efforts on the week. White had a pair of double-doubles as the Jayhawks clinched the No. 3 seed in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Tournament, including a 23-point, 11-rebound effort in the 104-85 win over KU State.
