Baylor men's basketball began the process of constructing its 2026-27 roster on Sunday, announcing the signing of guard Brett Decker Jr. from Liberty. Decker Jr. becomes the first transfer portal commit for the Bears.
The 6-3, 190-pound sophomore guard averaged 16.9 points last season and was one of the best shooters in the country, making 47 percent of his 3-point attempts this season, leading Conference USA.
The Elizabethtown, Kentucky, native scored in double-figures in 31 of the 34 games he played in and had 11 20-plus point performances. Decker Jr. also made at least three 3-point shots in 21 games this season. Decker Jr. had a career-best game against Louisiana Tech, going 8-for-13 from deep to end with 30 points.
During his freshman season with the Flames, Decker Jr. appeared in 27 games, averaging 4.3 points and shot 44.2 percent (23-of-52) from three-point territory on the year.
Out of high school, Decker Jr. graduated from Central Hard High School and was named 5th Region Player of the Year as a senior as well as all-region, all-district and Mr. Basketball candidate.
The Liberty transfer will come to Waco with two years of eligibility remaining.
