The UCF men's basketball team has added Jason Asemota to the 2026-27 roster, announced. The transfer from Boston College brings rebounding strength, defensive impact, and big guard play to the Knights offense.
The six-foot-eight junior played in 21 games for the Eagles, averaging 3.1 PPG and recording 8 blocks on the season. During his season-high 19 minutes of playing time against SMU, Asemota put up 10 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks. Asemota averaged 41% shooting from the field and 38% from beyond the arc last season.
Asemota started his collegiate career at Baylor, where he saw action in 24 games. In his time with Baylor, he scored a season-high eight points against Tarleton and shot 33% from the field. He also recorded 7 steals on the year to highlight his defensive presence.
Coming out of high school, Asemota was a five-star recruit. He was ranked the 29th best player in the class of 2024 by ESPN on the Overtime Elite circuit out of Hillcrest Prep averaging 15.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals. He was also ranked 16th in his position for the 2024 class and 3rd in the state of Arizona by 24/7 Sports.
