(BCSNN) -- University of Oklahoma head men’s basketball coach Porter Moser announced the signing of consensus top‑65 national high school senior Quincy Wadley to a financial aid agreement.
At No. 52 overall, Wadley is OU’s second‑highest‑rated high school signee in the 247Sports Composite since Trae Young (No. 24) in 2017. Jeremiah Fears, rated No. 45 in 2024, was the only higher‑ranked signee in that span. Young and Fears were NBA lottery picks after one season with the Sooners.
Wadley, a 6‑foot‑4, 185‑pound guard, is a consensus four‑star recruit in the 2026 class. He is ranked No. 43 nationally by 247Sports, No. 54 by ESPN and No. 65 by Rivals.
A Washington, D.C., native, Wadley attended Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, Va., before transferring to AZ Compass Prep in Chandler, Ariz., for his senior season. He is rated as the No. 7 shooting guard in his class by 247Sports, No. 8 by ESPN and No. 14 by Rivals. He is also ranked among the top players in Arizona: No. 2 by ESPN, No. 4 by 247Sports and No. 7 by Rivals.
“The things that jump out at you about Quincy are his length, his speed and his athletic ability,” Moser said. “He’s a really long and active player. And he’s got an edge to his mentality. That’s another thing I love about him. He’s also got a tremendous release on his shot. He can shoot from long distance with ease. I love his shooting ability.
“We’ve really tried to recruit length and mobility, which really help on defense. He’s got length, mobility and a quick twitch. We played better defense the second half of the season, and we made a run. He’ll help us on that side of the court, as well.”
Wadley chose Oklahoma over LSU and Cincinnati. He averaged 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 18 games during the 2025–26 season at AZ Compass Prep, the same program where Fears played his final high school season.
A 2022–23 MaxPreps Freshman All‑American, Wadley was the only freshman to earn first‑team All‑Washington Catholic Athletic Conference honors. He averaged 15.0 points and 4.2 rebounds that season for Bishop O’Connell.
Wadley joins forward Gage Mayfield as OU’s two high school signees in the 2026 class. Mayfield, the consensus No. 1 player in Alabama, is ranked No. 74 nationally by 247Sports, No. 76 by ESPN and No. 84 by Rivals.
