FIU men's basketball has announced the signing of JUCO transfer guard Mason Blazer (Harrisburg, Pa.) who comes to the 305 after a sensational season at Florida SouthWestern.

Blazer played in 31 games for the Bucs in 2025-26, averaging 16.5 points per game, 4.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists, shooting 49.2 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three. He cored in double figures in all but three games last season, including a season-high 31 points on 8-12 three-pointers against Monroe (Nov. 20).

Later in the season, he scored 28 points, going 11-17 from the field and 5-7 from three against head coach Joey Cantens and no. 9 Daytona State (Jan. 17), also recording his lone double-double of the year (15 points, 10 rebounds) against Hillsborough CC on Jan. 10. Blazer was ranked the no. 4 JUCO prospect by jucorecruiting.com, two ahead of future teammate Noah Mendy, also being named All-FCSAA.

Blazer spent his freshman season at St. Petersburg College, averaging 16.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in 32 games, playing all but one as a freshman starter. He shot 45% from the field and 35% from 3-point range, and was tabbed on jucorecruiting.com's Fab-50 freshman list.

A decorated high school player, Blazer scored over 1,000 points at Middletown Area HS in PA and was named First Team All-State multiple times during his career.
