HONOLULU – The University of Hawaii men's basketball team announced its tentative 2026-27 conference slate for its inaugural season in the Mountain West. Dates of the 18-game conference schedule are subject to change as the league's television partners will make their broadcast selections later this fall.
After 14 seasons in the Big West, the Rainbow Warriors officially joined the Mountain West on July 1, 2026. With the move, UH revives a number of pre-existing league rivalries. UC Davis joins UH from the Big West, while seven other schools (Air Force, Nevada, New Mexico, San Jose State, UNLV, UTEP, Wyoming) were foes of UH for a number of years in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Meanwhile, UH and Grand Canyon will be conference opponents for the first time.
UH plays its first three conference games on the road, beginning with a contest at San Jose State (Jan. 2), followed by games at UC Davis (Jan. 5), and Nevada (Jan. 9). The tentative road schedule also includes games at Grand Canyon (Jan. 20), UNLV (Jan. 23), Air Force (Feb. 10), Wyoming (Feb. 13), New Mexico (Feb. 24) and UTEP (Feb. 27).
The 'Bows MW home schedule will include nine games starting with a meeting against Air Force on Jan. 12 and followed by dates versus Wyoming (Jan. 16), New Mexico (Jan. 26), UC Davis (Jan. 30), UTEP (Feb. 6), San Jose State (Feb. 16), Nevada (Feb. 20), Grand Canyon (March 2) and UNLV (March 6) to cap the regular season. UH will then head to the 2027 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Basketball Championships, March 10-13, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
CBS Sports Network, Fox Sports and the CW are expected to make their broadcast selections of Mountain West games later this fall and any of the current dates listed could change to accommodate the television networks. The final schedule with television designations will be released by the conference following those selections.
