"Rattler? I barely knew her." You've got to laugh through the tears - of course, the only people crying right now are probably the folks at that Dodge dealership in Norman, Oklahoma that gave South Carolina's new quarterback a 2021 Dodge Ram TRX and 2021 Dodge Charger suped up with the Scat Pack this season.

Because he's driving his new rides to South Carolina!

Well before Lincoln Riley packed his bags and left the Dust Bowl of the prairie for Los Angeles, Rattler was on his way out with the Sooners. We have tried to isolate the exact moment and with the help of BCSNN scientists and over $36,400 in research funding (thanks, Big Government!), we believe he made the decision to leave ... the second he was benched against Texas and Caleb Williams ate his lunch on national TV. See? Worth every penny, Tax Payers.

The good news for everyone involved, except that Dodge dealership, is that Spencer will get a fresh start, Oklahoma has an extra scholarship (because that matters to OU :/), and Caleb Williams will get a new backup.

Rattler, the No. 1-ranked quarterback in the class of 2019, had a respectable 2020 season, throwing 28 touchdowns to seven interceptions. After watching Caleb Williams in action this season, Rattler probably has an even better understanding of the game, ensuring Shane Beamer a shot at winning as many as ... who knows, 7 or 8 games. I know. I know. It's crazy talk, but I'm optimistic.

South Carolina and Spencer Rattler will open 2022 against the Georgia State Panthers on September 3rd. Before then, fans looking to catch the Gamecocks in action can checkout the 2021 Duke's Mayo Bowl on December 30th.
