(BCSNN) — Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest Saturday on multiple charges, including three counts of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude, and speeding.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed the suspension Monday, saying Kirkpatrick “understands there are consequences that come with his actions.”

The sophomore — son of former Crimson Tide standout and NFL veteran Dre Kirkpatrick — was released from Tuscaloosa County Jail on $1,500 bond. His arrest comes just days before No. 4 Alabama hosts LSU in one of the most anticipated matchups of the season.

Kirkpatrick has recorded eight tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass breakup, and a forced fumble this year. Now, he’ll be watching from the sidelines as the Tide prepare for a high-stakes SEC clash.

The timing couldn’t be worse. Alabama’s secondary depth takes a hit, and the program’s off-field spotlight intensifies ahead of a game that could shape the SEC title race
