(BCSNN) — Stanford University has hired former Nike CEO John Donahoe as its new athletic director, a bold move that signals the school’s intent to navigate the evolving terrain of college athletics with a business-minded approach. Donahoe, 65, will officially begin his tenure on Sept. 8, replacing Bernard Muir, who stepped down earlier this year after 13 years in the role.

(BCSNN) — Rutgers University has appointed Keli Zinn as its new athletic director, ending a year-long vacancy and ushering in a new chapter for Scarlet Knights athletics. Zinn, who previously served as executive deputy athletic director and chief operating officer at LSU, will officially begin her tenure on August 6. Her five-year contract makes her the highest-paid athletic director in Rutgers history, with a starting salary of $1.35 million.

Preseason honors continue to arrive for the Ohio State Buckeyes four more players being named today to preseason watch lists: junior SAF Caleb Downs and senior CB Davison Igbinosun were named to the Thorpe Award watch list; and senior LB Sonny Styles and junior LB Arvell Reese were each named to the Butkus Award watch list.
