Head men's soccer coach Brian Rowland has announced the team's 2022 schedule. Eleven home matches are a highlight on the schedule, the most home games Temple has hosted since the 2009 season. UAB, Charlotte, FAU, and FIU, have joined the AAC for men's soccer beginning this season, with the Owls set to face all four.

"We are very excited to release our upcoming season schedule. I know I speak for our whole team when I say we are very motivated for the upcoming season and cannot wait to get started," Rowland said. "There is a lot to look forward to in our schedule, and we put together a set of games that will challenge our group and that will help prepare our team for our conference, and beyond. With some changes to the American Athletic Conference, we will face off against some new opponents as well as some familiar rivals. With 11 Home contests, we have a lot of opportunities for the Temple community to come out and support us in action!!"

The Owls will play three exhibition matches for a preseason tune-up, traveling to New York City to take on Saint John's (Aug. 14), before coming home to face XX (Aug. 16). The Owls will then head across town to take on Saint Joseph's (Aug. 20) for their final preseason match.

Temple will begin the season with back-to-back home games against nearby opponents Lehigh (Aug. 25) and Big East opponent Seton Hall (Aug. 30). Last season, the Owls traveled to Seton Hall where they played to a 0-0 draw at then tenth-ranked Pirates to open the season. The Cherry and White will next head south to face perennial powerhouse Georgetown on Sept. 2. This will be the only match of the entire season that will not kick off at 7 p.m. Instead, Temple will face the Hoyas at 3 p.m.

Next, the Owls will return to the Temple Sports Complex to begin a four-game homestand, their longest of the season. Temple will kick off the homestand with a fixture against Philly Soccer Six rival Penn on Labor Day (Sept. 5) before facing off against Lafayette (Sept. 9) and Saint Peter's (Sept. 13). The Cherry and White will conclude their homestand with the American Athletic Conference opener against UCF on Sept. 17.

The Owls begin a two-game road trip with matches against the USF Bulls (Sept. 24) and the SMU Mustangs (Sept. 30). Temple will open October with a pair of home games against Florida International (Oct. 5) and Memphis on October 9th. The Cherry and White will head back to Florida to face Florida Athletic in a battle of the Owls (Oct. 15).

Temple will take a one-game break from the conference for an October 18 fixture against Stony Brook before returning to AAC play as they host Tulsa (Oct. 22). The Owls finish out the month of October with a battle at UAB (Oct. 28).

The Cherry and White will play a single match in November to round out the regular season with a home match against Charlotte (Nov. 2), with the American Athletic Conference Championship beginning on Nov. 6. This season, the American will return to a three round conference tournament following two straight seasons on only rounds. The entire tournament (Nov. 6 - Nov. 13) will be held at the home site of the No. 1 seed.
