Syracuse defeated Marist, 2-0, in its first exhibition game of the preseason. Goals from freshman Emanuel Cappello and senior Bright Nutornutsi helped give the Orange the win against the Red Foxes.

Cappello tallied a goal in the 40th minute in his collegiate debut. Nutornutsi followed up in the second half, marking his first goal in an Orange jersey as well.
In a scheduled shootout, Syracuse scored all five goals, with shots from Nutornutsi, Michael Acquah, Ernest Mensah Jr., Nathan Scott and Carlos Zambrano. Juan Martinez-Bastidas protected the Orange goal.

The squad will return to SU Stadium for its second exhibition game on Tuesday Aug. 12 against Mercyhurst at 6 p.m. Following the matchup, 'Cuse will host St. John's on Saturday Aug. 16 at 2 p.m.

Fans are welcome at all exhibitions matches with free admission and parking included.
