Tied in the waning minutes, Tuesday's match between No. 7 Maryland and Rutgers seemed destined for a draw before Farouk Cisse put the Terps ahead in the 83rd minute, lifting Maryland to a 2-1 Big Ten win. The victory bumped the Terps to 7-2-1 (2-2-1 Big Ten) in 2026.

Goalkeeper Laurin Mack made six huge saves to keep Rutgers (5-5-1, 3-2 Big Ten) at bay before Cisse broke through with his first goal of the season. The Terps held on for their second Big Ten win of the season, despite being out-shot 15-9. Maryland is back in action at Ludwig Field on Friday night against No. 8 Michigan State.
