Sophomore track & field member Ezra Mellinger has been selected Duke's PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week after winning three events in the season-opening Orange and Purple Elite Meet in Clemson, S.C.

A native of Ronks, Pa., Mellinger got his impressive Saturday started in the men's long jump, where he placed first with a personal-record mark of 7.27 meters (23-10.25 feet). The distance stands as the fourth-best in Duke indoor history and is currently the fifth-best in the NCAA this season.

Nearly two hours later, he lined up in the 60m dash and clocked a winning time of 6.97 seconds, which is the fastest time in the ACC this season. Mellinger finished his afternoon with a top time of 21.89 seconds in the 200m, which goes in as the ninth-fastest finish in the NCAA and the best result by a Duke runner since he clocked 21.69 seconds at the Columbia Challenge last January.
