Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt announced Monday a change in leadership for the Red Raider football program as head coach Matt Wells has been relieved of his duties, effective immediately.

The Kansas Jayhawks (1-5, 0-3 Big 12) will welcome the No. 3/2 Oklahoma Sooners (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. CT to David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN with Mark Jones, Robert Griffin III and Quint Kessenich on the call.

Kansas State Football will try to claw its way back into the win column when the Wildcats host Iowa State on Saturday for the 105th meeting in this long-runng rivalry dubbed, Farmageddon. K-State is coming off two tough losses that saw undefeated Oklahoma State and Oklahoma both edge the Wildcats. As for Iowa State, the Cyclones have had a couple trip-ups this season, falling to Iowa (6-0) and Baylor (5-1), but looking strong otherwise.

Iowa State senior linebacker Mike Rose is one of 12 semifinalists for the Rotary Lombardi Award.

The Big 12 has announced its 2021-22 men’s basketball preseason awards and team as voted by the head coaches. Kansas’ Remy Martin was selected Preseason Player of the Year while Texas’ Marcus Carr picked up Newcomer of the Year and Baylor’s Kendall Brown was named Freshman of the Year.

After opening a season with four consecutive home games for just the second time in its history, TCU is on the road for a second consecutive week as it makes the short trek up I-35 to face No. 4 Oklahoma on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on ABC.

Oklahoma State men's basketball is set to hold an open practice for fans this Saturday, Oct. 16 at Tulsa Memorial High School. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. with practice slated to start at 4 p.m.

Kickoff for No. 25 Texas Football's Oct. 16 matchup against No. 12 Oklahoma State at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium will take place at 11 a.m. CT on FOX.

The Oklahoma State football team jumped to No.12 in both major polls released on Sunday, marking its highest ranking this season.

No. 6 Oklahoma is on the road for the first time this season as Spencer Rattler and the Sooners travel to Manhattan, KS for a tough test against the K-State Wildcats on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT inside Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced the 176 semifinalists for the 2021 William V. Campbell Trophy, college football’s premier scholar-athlete award. Big 12 representatives include Jalen Pitre (Baylor), Charlie Kolar (Iowa State), Landry Weber (K-State), Pat Fields (Oklahoma), Logan Carter (Oklahoma State), Cameron Dicker (Texas) and Sean Mahone (West Virginia).

Oklahoma State linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez was named Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Week Monday after his performance in OSU's 31-20 win over No. 25 Kansas State on Saturday.

Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells was recognized Friday for his work in the Lubbock community as he was named the honorary head coach for the 2021 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
