Texas received 28 first-place votes after finishing 13–3 last season and reaching the College Football Playoff semifinals, where they fell to eventual champion Ohio State.

(BCSNN) — Alabama safety Keon Sabb is back on the practice field and ahead of schedule in his recovery from a broken foot that ended his 2024 season prematurely. Sabb, who transferred to Tuscaloosa from Michigan, suffered the injury during the Crimson Tide’s 24–17 loss to Tennessee on Oct. 19 and underwent surgery shortly thereafter. He missed the final six games of the season and sat out all of spring practice.
