Big 12 television partners ESPN and FOX announced their early season selections on Thursday, locking in the first three games of the season for Kansas Football.

No. 3 Oklahoma (35-20) took down No. 2 Texas Tech 6-3 (37-19) in game eight of the 2022 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship at Globe Life Field. OU has started 2-0 at the Big 12 Championship for the first time since winning the title in 2013.

The No. 4 seed Oklahoma State Cowboys (36-19) fell to the No. 5 seed Texas Longhorns (40-17) 4-0 in the opener of the 2022 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship opener at Globe Life Field.

Texas first baseman Ivan Melendez was named Big 12 Player of the Year and Texas Tech starter Brandon Birdsell was selected Big 12 Pitcher of the Year as the Conference unveiled its 2022 All-Big 12 Awards. The honorees were selected in a vote of the league’s head coaches, who could not vote for their own players.

TCU scored four times in the sixth to erase a one-run deficit and held on for a 7-6 victory over Santa Clara Thursday night at Lupton Stadium. With the Thursday night results in the league play, TCU clinched at least a share of the Big 12 regular season title, the fourth in program history.

Iowa State head men's basketball coach T.J. Otzelberger has announced the addition of St. Bonaventure transfer Osun Osunniyi (Oh-shoon Oh-shoon-eeyee). Osunniyi is a 6-10 post out of Pleasantville, N.J. who played for the Bonnies the last four seasons. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
