(BCSNN) -- Some things never change, and you can count the disrespect of AP voters for teams from The American, as one of those constants. The AP released its Top 25 College Football Poll for Week 3 on Sunday, and while the top five remained mostly unchanged — with No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Penn State, No. 3 LSU, and No. 5 Miami all holding firm — the middle of the rankings saw notable movement. Oregon climbed two spots to No. 4 after a 69–3 throttling of Oklahoma State, while Michigan fell eight places to No. 23, after that surprise loss to Oklahoma.

The game was defined by defensive grit and clutch special teams, with Iowa State kicker Kyle Konrardy drilling a 54-yard field goal with under two minutes remaining to seal the win.
