Texas Tech senior linebacker Jacob Rodriguez was named the winner of the 2025 Bronko Nagurski Trophy on Monday evening by the Football Writers Association of America and Charlotte Touchdown Club at the annual banquet. The Nagurski Trophy has been presented since 1993 to the nation's most outstanding defensive player by the Charlotte Touchdown Club.

Charles Huff has been named the 26th head coach in Memphis football history, Senior Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Ed Scott announced Monday, Dec. 8. Huff, a well-known figure in both collegiate and professional football, spent the 2019-20 season as College Football Hall of Fame coach Nick Saban's associate head coach and worked with future NFL superstars Najee Harris and Saquon Barkley.
