  • Wisconsin Men's Hockey Skates Past Minnesota to Lead the Big Ten

    The Wisconsin men's hockey team (13-7-0, 11-5-0 0-1-0 Big Ten) swept into first place in the Big Ten by skating to an 8-1 victory over the second-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers (15-5-0, 11-5-0-0-0-0 Big Ten) in the team's final regular-season matchup of the season. Wisconsin's depth and skill were on full display tonight with six different Badgers notching goals.

  • Penn State Holds Off Late Rally Attempt by Maryland to Top the Terrapins

    The Penn State men's basketball team (7-8, 4-7) remained composed and held off a late Maryland rally for a 55-50 win at the Bryce Jordan Center Friday night. Penn State senior guard Jamari Wheeler made two free throws with 23 seconds left for the final margin after the Nittany Lions kept Maryland (10-9, 4-8) without a field goal for the final 7:32.

    The Ohio State men’s hockey lost to No. 4-ranked Minnesota, 5-2, Saturday in Value City Arena, closing the regular season series between the teams.

    No. 13 Wisconsin broke a 1-1 tie with two power-play goals in just over a span of two minutes late in the third period and defeated the Michigan State hockey team, 4-1, on Saturday at LaBahn Arena.

    The Illinois Track & Field Team hosted the Illini Big Ten Multi Meet this Friday and Saturday at the UI Armory.   • Nebraska Track and Field Begins the Indoor Season in a Non-Scored Meet

    The Nebraska track and field team begins the 2021 indoor season at home this Saturday with the Husker Triangular. Nebraska will host fellow Big Ten Conference foes Iowa and Minnesota in the non-scored meet. Saturday's events will begin at 11:30 a.m. While the general public will not be allowed to attend the meet, there will be free live video streams for all of the events available on Huskers.com. Live results can be followed at Results.DeltaTiming.com/Nebraska.

  • Three Arizona State Alums Earn Spots on NHL and AHL Team Rosters

    Three Sun Devils for Life went through their respective NHL training camps over the last two weeks, which featured approximately 40 players in each camp. On Tuesday and Wednesday, all 31 teams made their final cuts down to the NHL mandated 23-player roster, along with an additional four to six players on a taxi squad. The taxi squad, which was implemented in 2020-21 to help with COVID-19 protocols, will be with the NHL team, practice with the NHL, and travel with the NHL team but they are not counted against the roster of the NHL team.

  • Nebraska Men's Basketball Remains Idle as Huskers Follow COVID-19 Protocols

    Following the pause in full team activities in the Nebraska men's basketball program announced, the Huskers' scheduled game at Maryland this Saturday, Jan. 16, has been postponed. The institutions will work with the Big Ten Conference to identify rescheduling options.

    The No. 7-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team topped its third ranked opponent in as many games, putting together a 27-3 run in the second half to earn a 77-54 victory over No. 9 Wisconsin in a Big Ten Conference contest Tuesday night (Jan. 12) at Crisler Center.

  • No. 1 Alabama Dominates No. 3 Ohio State in a National Championship Blowout

    The Alabama football team won its 18th national championship Monday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Garden, Fla., in front of 14,926 fans with a dominating 52-24 win over No. 3 Ohio State in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Alabama finished its season a perfect 13-0, while Ohio State fell to 7-1.

  • ASU Sun Devils Hockey Bounces Back to Top No. 18 Notre Dame, 5-3

    The duo of freshman Matthew Kopperud and senior Johnny Walker helped lead Sun Devil Hockey to a bounce-back victory against No. 18 Notre Dame in its final game of the series at Compton Family Ice Arena with a 5-3 victory Sunday afternoon.

    University of Minnesota junior guard Marcus Carr was named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List. The announcement was made by the Los Angeles Athletic Club and was announced on ESPNU.

    Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields has been named the 2020 Chicago Tribune Silver Football award winner as the best player in the Big Ten Conference. The award, presented since 1924, is voted on by the conference’s 14 head coaches.

  • No. 16 Michigan Wolverines Start 2021 with a Victory Over No. 19 Northwestern

    The No. 16-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team used five double-digit scorers to propel it to an 85-66 victory over No. 19 Northwestern on Sunday night (Jan. 3) in its first contest of the New Year at Crisler Center.
