In a memorable football season that almost didn't happen, Ball State finished it by making history. The Cardinals scored 27 first-quarter points and cruised the rest of the afternoon to capture the first bowl victory in school history, a 34-13 win over AP No. 19 San Jose State in the Arizona Bowl.

It was the second straight year the Bulls were victorious in a bowl game.

Former conference rivals will clash on Christmas Day as the Buffalo Bulls and Marshall Thundering Herd meet in the 2020 Camellia Bowl. While Marshall now calls Conference USA home, the Herd once thundered through the MAC - after transitioning from Division I-AA (FCS) in 1997.
